Black Sabbath announces Chicago show in their upcoming 2013 U.S. Tour

Reps for Black Sabbath have confirmed and announced a 5-week tour of North America in support of the band's upcoming album, ‘13.’ The full list of shows can be found below.

Sabbath will kick off their 20-date tour on July 25 in Houston, Texas. The band will work its way across the continent – including a show in Chicago – before winding up in Los Angeles on Sept. 3. Currently Black Sabbath are touring Australia through May 7, after which they will play Ozzfest Japan on May 12.

Tickets for the 16 dates announced today will go on sale Friday, May 3 at Ticketmaster. Fans can also visit a special Facebook page to register for pre-sale, which will take place May 2. VIP packages can also be purchased at VIP Nation.

’13,’ the first Ozzy Osbourne-fronted Black Sabbath album since 1978, will be out on June 11. The first single, ‘God is Dead?,’ has already been released.

Tattoo The Devil has become OCEANBORN.

The Chicago progressive metal band known as Tattoo the Devil, has changed their name to Oceanborn. After putting the band fully together and playing a number of shows in the midwestern U.S., the band released a self produced three song EP entitled, "The Descent EP" online in March of 2012. The formerly, Tattoo the Devil, decided to change the name before releasing any significant amount of new content.

In a statement from the band, "...Tattoo The Devil just didn't fit the music we were creating and we didn't want to be limited or mislead music listeners."

FIST TO THE SKY releases a FREE song!

The Windy City metal quartet Fist To The Sky reports that due to an overwhelming support for the band, they have decided to give the fans and public a free song as a 'thank you'.
Back in June of 2012, FTTS won a ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition, and their 1st place prize was to record a song in the studio. So, they went into the studio and recorded ‘Fight Me’.

WORWYK unveils tracks from upcoming album.

The Chicago-based studio project known as Worwyk, reports that they are indeed working on the next Worwyk album which is to be titled Shadows Black and planned to be released later this year.
Six of ten written songs are already recorded, so substantial progress is taking place on the new material. Some of these tracks have been posted on the band's ReverbNation page so fans can start checking them out.

The 4 new songs available to listen on the page are Gallows Hill, Insecurity, Paths to Follow and Occupy. There is also a brand new video for the title track Shadows Black on the page as well so everyone can hear half the new album, all on their Reverbnation site.

LYNCH announces NEW bass player.

The original music band Lynch has announced that after a 2-month search, they have found the "perfect bass player for us and his name is Carlos Rivera!". The chemistry was reportedly instant. That, the band stated, plus command of the instrument and the ability to be a family member [to the band] as well was a deciding factor in the selection process.

Autism Benefit 'BREAKING THE SILENCE' returns this Spring.

Breaking The Silence, the annual event designed to raise awareness about Autism and to benefit the non-profit organization Austim Society of Illinois (ASI), and now in its 5th year, will be taking place on Sunday, April 28th at Durty Nellie's in Palatine, IL.

In addition to raffles & other prizes, a great lineup of Chicago bands will be performing throughout the evening. 'SLAM BANG' starts search for NEW members.

Slam Bang, the party-rock, Jagermeister-lovin' band of rockers from the Elgin area, made a startling announcement when they recently announced that their lead singer/guitarist and founding member of the band had abruptly decided to leave them and go pursue other dreams in California.
